Town of Chesterton

I visited the Town of Chesterton yesterday.  Very impressed.  They have a number of festivals during the year in the town, numerous parades in the town (including a Christmas Parade at night), various art festivals, a European Market every Saturday in the summer and many other activities that I can't even remember.

This is what every small town should strive to be.  My experience in small town doings is everyone has an idea, but no one acts on it.  Or, someone has an idea, but it doesn't fit another one's ideas and it gets shut down (Vickie Kitchen Town Clerk of North Liberty is infamous for this).

Their downtown still has local business's and are somewhat supported by the town's citizens.  If one ever gets the chance to visit, do so and mingle with some of the towns people.
