The other day I briefly wrote about the possible collapse of one dynasty (Yankees). Today I write about a current dynasty right before our eyes. Now I'm not much of a St. Louis Cardinals fan, but what they have done over the past years is simply amazing.
First, no one had them winning it all last year. After being down to their last strike, they come through and win another World Series. This is after coming into the playoffs as a wild card team.
So after last season, they lose arguably the best player in Major League Baseball (Pujols) and arguably the best Manager in baseball (LaRossa). One would then think they would degress a little, right? Nope. They come into the playoffs again as a wild card team, were one strike away from being eliminated (Nationals), and are only one game away from the World Series. Maybe the Cubs management should take some lessons from this team...
